Naptime Bootcamp Part 2
He's definitely going to be upset with me one day...
Some things are just way too cute not to video/photograph. And when your child crawls (naked) from his room to the bathroom to take a bath for the first time...its pretty darn cute (even if he is trying to eat the laptop right now as we speak). So I'll share with you all what I know Jack will kill me for later. Forgive my voice in the video--I still haven't quite recovered from being sick last week and I sound pretty awful.

Mission Accomplished
And magically....it just happens! I guess when you want to GO so badly--you have to figure it out pretty quick. Jack can really crawl! Not just army crawl (aka drag himself) across the floor--but do it right. I worked all weekend--and Friday he couldn't totally do it, yesterday he figured it out, and today he's trying to pick up some speed. Tonight, he crawled TO me for the first time tonight...and then lifted his arm--his new thing for pick me up. Made my day!!!

Before Bedtime
Loving that those dimples are starting to show
We had a good hour of playtime tonight--all three of us--after the nighttime bath and before bedtime. Jack was in an excellent mood (a rarity in the evening)--laughing, smiling, being totally squirrely--I don't think that boy will ever sit still.

Bumming Around the House
Below are some pictures of him playing with toys, exercising his new found skills, and some of the odd places he finds himself:

Figuring It Out

Hanging out...
Even Jack thinks its funny to leave a shirt stuck on his head. Goofball.
In the beginning, there were messes because he hadn't quite figured it out--the whole eating thing that is. Now...well, he's figured it out. Its a game to see if he can flip the spoon before it gets to his mouth, and then, he'll smack his hands all over the highchair and intentionally make a mess. Can you say rotten....really, rotten?

The many faces of Jack...
We've had a fairly busy weekend with different events and outings going on. So this afternoon, we devoted some time to just lounging around the house and playing with Jack.
Jack really reminds me of someone in the above picture, but I haven't quite figured out who. He kept pulling my glasses off my face, so...he got to try them on. Personally, I think he's still cute.
Below, is Jack sitting. This is a RARE occurrence. Not because Jack CAN'T sit...but because he really just doesn't want to.
I took the bumpers out of Jack's (rarely-used) crib today since he was just using them to pull himself places in hopes that maybe he would take a nap in here. Mmmm...not so much. It looks like he's found other ways to entertain himself like eating the bars and getting his arms and legs stuck.

The hunt for a blanket in October
Once we returned from this long day we promptly put the overly-tired Jack to bed after a quick change into pajamas and a bottle. For a baby who spent most of the evening a little grumpy since he was SO tired, we were rather surprised to find this scene an hour after we'd put him to bed..........
Apparently, he was just happy to be home and unrestrained....working on crawling, laughing, and saying ay-ay-ay-ay, ba-ba-ba, and (sadly for mommy) da-da-da-da-da. I am happy to report, though, that Jack is blissfully off in la-la land (for now).
